Through my work I try to put onto canvas the beauty mother nature presents. My creations pay tribute to the natural world that remind the rest of us to slow down and protect the environment and reconnect with nature.
Birungi paints social and cultural themes, animals and birds, domestic or wild, for conservation and future generation reference. Birungi executes his subjects using water colors, acrylics and oil paints. He has had a number of private, solo and group Art exhibitions, national and international, and has had private collections of his works.
Birungi has also specialized in drawing illustrations, has an amazing eye for detail. He has been drawing communication materials for several NGOs, businesses and the public sector.
The illustrations have been used in several behavior change communication materials, children’s books, newspapers and magazines across the globe. He has partnered with NIYO ARTS GALLERY to support its initiative of helping and reaching out to the disadvantaged children affected by genocide in Rwanda.
Birungi continues to believe in giving back to society.
Birungi completed school at Makerere University with a BA in Fine Art and has been fully practicing art since.
